Pinot Grigio, Via Nova (Italy 2022)
A great example of the very popular grape, which accounts for 1 in 10 bottles of wine sold in the UK today!
£27.50

Reserve Chardonnay, Tooma River (South Eastern Australia 2023)
This wine follows suit, bursting with grapefruit, lime, and melon flavours, all complemented by a zesty, crisp citrus balance that lingers through the finish.
£26

False Bay Chenin Blanc, Western Cape (South Africa 2022)
The long wild yeast ferment provides bready aromas and additional complexity to the wine. Dried herbaceous notes, including fennel and aniseed from the nearby fynbos, dominate the nose, followed by a creamy lemon character. The palate is reminiscent of the nose, with great textural complexity, attributable to the long, slow wild yeast fermentation.
£30

Cortese, Araldica (Piemonte, Italy 2023)
A great value, zesty dry white. Fresh, primary fruit aromas of green apples, grapefruit and ripe citrus fruit on the nose with lightly honeyed, lemony notes on the palate. The finish is fresh and crisp with citrus flavours, a hint of almond and mineral touches.
£27.50

Trentino Sauvignon Blanc (Italy 2022)
Intense aromas of citrus, green apple and nettle - typical of the variety. The palate is fresh and lively with lemon and passion fruit characters, and good mid-palate weight, leading to a crisp, zesty finish.
£31.50

Cuma Organic Torrontes, El Esteco (Salta, Argentina 2023)
Floral Torrontés that arrives on a cloud of rose petals, jasmine and citrus, fills the mouth with more citrus and a twist of orange peel. Aromatic & dry.
£36

Picpoul de Pinet Organic, Petit Roubie (France 2022)
Fresh and evocative of its maritime proximity. Wafts of sea breeze mingle with delightful notes of citrus, apple skin and herbs. Hints of peach and exotic fruits make a fleeting appearance too. The excellent length of flavour is ample evidence of the wine makers attention to detail in the making of this wine. Brilliant with seafood.
£38

Albariño, Vina Almirante Pionero (Spain 2023)
The aromas include certain vegetable tones, blending in perfectly with a variety of fruity notes, particularly citrus and stone fruits, as well as lemon verbena and mint. The palate exhibits moderate acidity, a fine balance adding crispness while maintaining its marked complexity.
£39.50

Furmint, Sauska (Tokaj, Hungary 2021)
Complex and distinctive, yet mouth-wateringly crisp and refreshing with a long juicy finish. A beautiful expression of this lesser-known grape variety.
£40

Frost Pocket Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand 2023)
Crisp, dry and refreshing. Green and fresh with lime and gooseberry, gentled by flavours of tropical fruit.
£42

Gavi di Gavi, La Minaia, Nicola Bergaglio (Italy 2022)
Gavi has been dubbed the “Chablis of Italy”, due to its fresh, steely minerality. Not to be confused with bog standard Gavi, this is made in the actual village where much stricter regulations are imposed, resulting in a wine of great class.
£43

Sancerre, Thirot-Fournier (France 2023)
A seriously stunning textbook Sancerre. Great complexity with the classic minerality so traditional of Sancerre & all exhilaratingly fresh gooseberry flavours that you could ask for.
£57

Roero Arneis Riserva, Bordone Giuseppe (Italy 2022)
Only 2,000 bottles made and this is exclusive for the Malt Shovel in the UK. Pale gold with aromas of pear, chamomile, and subtle hazelnut. The palate is textured yet fresh, with ripe stone fruit, gentle spice, and a clean mineral finish. The oak ageing adds depth without overpowering. A refined, structured Arneis that balances elegance and richness—drinking beautifully now with room to evolve.
£75

An easy drinking fresh & dry pale coral blush.

Pretty Gorgeous Rose (South of France 2023)
For those who like a sweeter style of Rosé, a delightful summery Rosé hailing from the Languedoc area of France.
£28.95

La Vidaubanaise, Côtes de Provence Rosé (France 2022)
Sit back and pretend you are in St. Tropez with this dry, elegant & beguiling Rose.
£34.95

RED
Prices on the wine list are per bottle. Wine by the glass is available, please ask your waiter/bar staff.

Merlot, Roos Estate (South Africa 2021)
£24.95

Shiraz, Soldier’s Block (Australia 2022)
Soft supple Victorian Shiraz, moreish by the glass. Lifted, aromatic and juicy. True to the varietal, the tiny proportion of Malbec in this blend gives a flowery perfume. This vintage is our brightest, most drinkable Shiraz to date due to its fine, bright fruit and soft silky elegance.
£27.50

Rioja Vega Tempranillo (Spain 2022)
Aromas of red fruits, strawberries and blackcurrants.
£31.50

Cotes Du Rhone Villages, Plan De Dieu (France 2020)
IWSC 2020 SILVER MEDAL WINNER Full-bodied and textural with smooth, ripe tannins. The nose has liquorice and red and black fruit, which carry through to the palate with a salty, mineral edge. Structured yet approachable, the finish is long with hints of coffee and spice.
£35

Biferno, Palladino (Molise 2018)
From Central Italy this is a plush, easy-drinking blend of Monteplulciano and Aglianco grapes with a fragrance of blueberries with a warm underlay of spice followed by a mouthful of damson jam and plum cake.
£35.50

Rocca Primitivo (Salento, Italy 2021)
Intense red colour with purple highlights. Bouquet of red fruits and sweet jam. On tasting, first comes a scent of cherry, followed by ripe fruits and plums’ notes. In the aftertaste, a pleasant final of vanilla. Very good persistence and good body.
£36

Les Mougeottes Pinot Noir, IGP Pays D’Oc (Southern France 2022)
The famous red grape of Burgundy produces some of the finest wines in the world. This is a beautifully complex medium bodied wine that matches well with duck or lamb and offers way more bang for buck than similarly priced Burgundies.
£36

Nero D'avola, Di Stelle Andrero (Sicily, Italy 2018)
Elegant, fruity and full bodied. Intense red with violet reflections, intense aromas of preserved fruits, black cherries and currant.
£36

Malbec, Toso Estate (Mendoza, Argentina 2020)
IWSC Argentine Wine Producer Award Winner Ripe fruits on the nose with aromas of plums and quince and a touch of elegant oak. Blackberry and liquorice fruit on the palate lead onto a rich and long finish with smoky accents of vanilla and lingering oak.
£38

Le Berry, Meinert (Stellenbosch, South Africa NV)
A sumptuous Bordeaux blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. It has mature fruit with butterscotch oak character and a rounded, succulent texture.
£39.50

Otonal Reserva DOC Rioja, Bodegas Olarra (Spain 2015)
Silver Medal at 24th Grand International Wine Awards. On the nose, aromas of sweet ripe fruit and delicate notes of smokiness. On the palate, tastes of cherry, plum and blackberries combined with gentle clean aromas of oak. Elegant mouthfeel, a full body and a fresh and fruity aftertaste.
£46

Beaujolais Nouveau Le Pot, Louis Tete (France 2025)
The freshest Beaujolais, barely in the bottle, bursting with cherries and blackcurrant, with just a hint of spice. Juicy and light-bodied gamay, with added benefit of no added sulphites. Served lightly chilled at 12*/13* C.
£49.50

Château Bertinat Lartigue, Saint Emilion Bordeaux (France 2022)
Full-bodied, silky Bordeaux, perfumed with liquorice and coating the tongue with flavours of blackberry and raspberry. The soils of Puisseguin St Emilion can be distinguished by their higher content of calcary. The 8.34 ha of Bel-Air, remarkably gathered around the estate buildings, marvellously show how such a calcareous-clayish terroir produces deep and full-bodied wines.
£57

Nebbiolo D’Alba, Rocca Giovanni (Piedmont, Italy 2020)
From the heart of Monforte d’Alba, Rocca Giovanni’s Giaculin is a fresh, vibrant take on Nebbiolo, the 'King of Grapes' according to the Italians. The 2022 vintage is fragrant and finely structured, offering bright red cherry, violet, and a hint of spice. It’s lighter and more approachable than Barolo, but unmistakably Piedmontese in its character - firm yet graceful tannins, a touch of earth, and a long, mineral-tinged finish. A brilliant introduction to Nebbiolo and a versatile food wine, especially with red meats, mushrooms, or aged cheeses.
